ACID and BASE are mechanisms/tools that work well in some cases and not others. The message of this presentation is that both are needed, there are pros and cons to both, and you should expect to have to consider ACID and BASE when working with big, distributed data.
Dan Sullivan is an independent data management consultant and a enterprise architect.
